Star Balance Testing Systems
ONPoint Medical set out to create devices that are developed to greatly simplify objective, quantitative, assessments of dynamic balance in both clinical settings and at home.
The Star Balance System removes the manual burdens preventing the broad adoption of the star excursion balance test by automating reach-distance measurement; while reducing the test’s footprint by 90%; enabling widespread evidence-based balance rehabilitation.


Meet Our Team
The Star Balance Assessment Board was the basis of a $70,000 BURST award from TechAlliance of Southwestern Ontario, a local incubator. Receiving this award led to the incorporation of ONPoint Medical Inc, a startup company dedicated to developing tools that simplify evidence-based rehabilitation and training.

Learning Materials
There is a demand for objective and quantitative evidence in support of training and rehabilitation decisions. Collecting this data can be cumbersome though, and is easily abandoned if not required. At ONPoint Medical, we are seeking to provide intuitive tools that build on established assessments to simplify the collection of training and rehabilitation evidence; because we all deserve the best.

The Star Balance Assessment Board’s custom sensors are being fabricated and, pending their testing, pre-orders will be taken to fund board manufacturing.
A second product, the Star Balance Training Mat, is designed for patients’ at home use as a rehabilitation/training tool. Pre-orders will be fulfilled by September 2019.
