The Star Balance System was the basis of a $70,000 BURST award from TechAlliance of Southwestern Ontario, a local incubator. Receiving this award led to the incorporation of ONPoint Medical Inc, a startup company dedicated to developing tools that simplify evidence-based rehabilitation and training.
There is a demand for objective and quantitative evidence in support of training and rehabilitation decisions. Collecting this data can be cumbersome though, and is easily abandoned if not required.
